Canada's PW150C Engine Selected To Power AVIC Xi'an Aircraft Company's New MA700 Pratt & Whitney Canada (P&WC), a United Technologies Corporation company UTX today announced that its PW150C turboprop engine will power the new MA700 regional turboprop Aircraft being launched by AVIC Xi'an Aircraft Company of China. This selection reinforces P&WC's global leadership in the regional turboprop segment and further extends P&WC's presence in China's rapidly growing aviation industry.

comes as the PW100/PW150 is celebrating its 30 years of leadership in the regional turboprop segment this year and further underscores its reputation as the engine of choice of Aircraft manufacturers. This has been made possible by the engine family's unmatched reliability and proven performance, as well as by our best-in-class customer service network, including a rapid-response Customer First Centre in Singapore for the Asia-Pacific region."

Mr. Pang Zhen, Vice President, Commercial Aircraft Programs, AVIC, noted that P&WC has a strong track record in the regional turboprop segment and that the company's PW127J powers AVIC Xi'an's growing fleet of MA60/600 regional Aircraft. "We are very pleased to be building on our decades-long relationship with Pratt & Whitney Canada by selecting the PW150C engine for our newest regional turboprop," he said.

P&WC's PW150C turboprop engine leverages the success of its PW150A engine by providing increased performance. The enhancements in the engine are customized to meet the specific needs of the MA700 and will provide exceptional fuel burn economics for the new Aircraft.
