US Canada pavilion was a big hit at the Airport Show 2014
Utilizing a bigger space to display a wider range of new technologies and solutions, key aviation industry players from the US and Canada will reach out to the regional buyers through a joint pavilion, for the second consecutive year, at the 15th edition of Airport Show to be held in Dubai from May 10 to 12.
Reed Exhibitions Middle East, organisers of Airport Show, is confident about recording substantial growth in terms of exhibitors and exhibition space at the US-Canada Pavilion at the 2015 edition.
The 93 square metres pavilion at the 2014 edition and had six companies. For the 2015 edition, the organisers are hopeful to almost double this in terms of size and number of companies.
The Middle East region continues to be the focus of attention of the global aviation industry given its massive size of investments in airports expansion which according to CAPA’s Airport Construction and CapEx database amounts to nearly $60bn. According to IATA, $40bn airport investments are in the GCC states alone, with the UAE taking the top slot.
Daniyal Qureshi, Group Exhibition Director, Reed Exhibitions Middle East, said We are very happy to have a stronger participation from US and Canadian companies under the joint pavilion. The growth reflects strong bilateral business relations between the two countries, especially in the aviation domain. The region is looking for the latest technologies to meet its aviation development programmes and these companies offer cutting edge technologies and solutions, which we are pleased will be displayed at the region’s leading aviation B2B platform, the Airport Show.
Lindsay Hoto, Marketing Manager, Searidge Technologies, said: “The Pavillion has added value by providing us with a larger presence, networking opportunities and a prime position on the show floor. The dedication of the organizers has brought quality attendees to the show, assisting us to reinforce existing partnerships and identify new opportunities within the industry.”
Searidge has been participating at the Airport Show since 2008, but moved to the country pavilion in 2014 with an 18 square metre stand. We are looking forward to the Airport Show 2015 where we will showcase our innovative surface management solutions for airports through a 18 square metre stand,” Lindsay said.
Dieter Pade, Vice President, International Sales, Nilfisk-Advance Technologies, another repeat exhibitor, said: “The Airport show has provided Nilfisk Advance/Cyclone Technology the opportunity to meet face to face with new and existing customers. In addition, the Show has provided us an ideal forum to introduce the industry to a new rubber and paint removal technology, offering unbeaten savings to the industry. We have seen an increase in sales from the 2014 show and expect more of the same next year.
Other pavilion exhibitors include Aventura Technologies, global experts in security solutions, and Hi-Lite Global, an industry leader in runway rubber removal technologies. Earlier this year, the US Census Bureau’s Foreign Trade Division released data highlighting the UAE as the top US export destination in the entire Middle East North Africa (MENA) region for the fifth year in a row, sharing a record $26.9bn in trade in 2013, 8.5% over 2012. As the UAE further diversifies its economy, trade between the two countries is expected to grow and the UAE will remain an ideal economic partner for U.S.-based businesses looking to accelerate investments in the region.
The world’s top-league B2B event for the airports industry will take place at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre (DICEC) under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority (DCAA), Chairman of Dubai Airports and Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline and Group.
